The owners of Peppermint Stick Learning Company Inc. have the following “Statement of Faith” upon which we base our writings and our previewing standards of any of our product-line which teach lessons based on Christianity.
Statement of Faith
We believe:
¨ The Bible (both the Old Testament and the New Testament) is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings. It is the Christian’s final authority from God.
¨ The interpretation of the scriptures is primarily literal unless otherwise clearly indicated by scripture itself (“scripture interprets scripture”). As such, the Biblical accounts of the creation and flood in the days of Noah are literally true and acceptable by faith alone, even though observations in the world itself also point to this truth.
¨ There is one God, eternally existent as the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son, and the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life.
¨ The birth of Jesus is evidence of His deity in that He was virgin born and is God in the flesh – fully God and fully human, but without sin.
¨ In Christ’s miracles and His teachings.
¨ The blood of Christ, shed on Calvary, is the atonement for man’s sin – that sin could not be forgiven until it was punished and that Christ endured the punishment on behalf of man through His death because of God’s love and mercy.
¨ The burial and the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus and His ascension into heaven are literal facts.
¨ Salvation is a free gift of God offered to the sinner by grace and received by personal faith and dependence in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for everlasting life and the forgiveness of sins.
- We can believe or have faith that God can answer our prayer for all sorts of things. That is good.
- We can believe that God exists and that Jesus, God the Son, stepped into human history around 2000 years ago and lived a perfect life – that is also good to believe because it is true; but the devil and his demons also believe this (James 2:19) and they are not saved for eternal life (Matt. 25:41).
- The faith that is involved with being saved from our sin and living with the Lord Jesus forever (e.g. in heaven) is not just a mental assent to a good doctrinal creed or knowing enough correct answers in a catechism class or homeschool/Christian school Bible curriculum. Rather, the kind of faith that is meant by believing on/in Jesus Christ (John 3:16) is a heart commitment to the living God, your trust in Jesus Christ to save you. He is the only One Who can and the only Way you can have salvation and be with God (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Psalm 53:2-3, Luke 19:10, Romans 10:13).
¨ The believers are called “the Church”, which is composed of all who, by faith, have accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord.
¨ The blessed hope of the Christian is the any-moment personal return of the Lord Jesus to take all believers to heaven. Those who reject God’s plan of salvation will be condemned to everlasting punishment. Specifically, we also believe that the Bible teaches a pre-millennial rapture of all true believers of Jesus Christ. And, after the Tribulation period, Jesus will again come to this earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to set up His kingdom at that time. We do not support the ideologies of “dominionism” or “theonomy”. Our Bible study materials aim to reflect our perspective when such topics arise.
¨ The call of each believer is to be prepared to give an answer as to the hope that is found in Jesus Christ with gentleness and respect. The good news of God’s true gospel of peace is to be proclaimed by believers joyfully around the world in the strength and courage God provides. God is the One Who has the power to change anyone humbled before Him and calling on Him for salvation from sin and He promises He will do so for them.
¨ We believe in the importance of the spiritual unity of true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (This means a unity in shared essential doctrines, based on good interpretation of God’s Word. The Bible also provides us direction for when separation is needed due to important differences.) We recognize that God’s people exist in a variety of denominational expressions but can be unified on theology relating to Who Jesus is, what God’s Word is, and what the Biblical gospel is.

Our Christian Testimonies:
Rob’s testimony:
My mom became a Christian in the early 1980’s and seeing the difference in her life, I asked Jesus Christ to forgive my sins too and come in to my life. I enjoy studying God’s Word and occasionally have taken Bible courses through the Bible Institute at www.BBNradio.org. Proverbs 3:5-6 are a couple of my favourite Scripture verses.
Joy’s testimony:
I became a Christian shortly after my 3rd birthday. Yes, at an early age, I understood my need to be saved and I also have clear memories about when I made my own decision to ask Jesus Christ to save me from my sins and give me eternal life. I was raised in a Christian family where God was important in our daily life. My mom often put on story records for me from Children’s Bible Hour (now Keys for Kids Ministries); CBH has enriched my life and continued to do so over many years. A story about being ready for Jesus when He comes again caught my attention and after being miserable and under conviction of my sin for a while, I found my ten year old sister, Carolyn, who was home at the time, and asked her how I could be saved and go to heaven someday. She read through a “First Steps” tract from Child Evangelism Fellowship with me and we knelt beside my bed while I invited Jesus into my heart to be my Saviour and Lord and forgive me of my sin. I know that God changed me into a new creation in Christ. Psalm 28:7 and Romans 1:16 are a couple of my favourite Scripture verses.

What about you? Do you know Jesus as your Saviour and Lord?
Below is how you can also share the faith that we have and become a part of God’s family today!
Knowing Christ Personally…
We admitted we were a sinner and were sorry. We knew we had done wrong things that God hated. He is perfect; we are not. We wanted to have eternal life and not eternal punishment.
The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
We realized that Jesus paid for the penalty of our sin on the cross. He died for us and taking our place/our punishment. He became alive again three days later. Salvation is a gift and we could never earn it by doing enough good things. We believed/trusted and accepted Jesus as our Saviour and Lord.
The Bible says, “…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
We talked to God in prayer and asked Him to come into our life and save us.
The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9, 13
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith…” Ephesians 3:17a
“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” John 1:12

The Bible has all the answers for our spiritual needs.
If you are new to the Bible, a couple of places you might like to start is to read (to get a good overview) are Genesis chapters 1 to 11, the Book of Mark or John, and the Book of Psalms.
If you desire to explore more about faith in the true God by watching/listening to something on YouTube to help you know Who this God is and why we all are here in this moment of time, one of the most enriching and easy-to-listen-to seminar series that we can recommend to you is presented by Anne Graham Lotz (world evangelist Billy Graham’s daughter) at the below links. (Full disclosure: We do not get compensated in any way to recommend these links to you. We may or may not personally agree with every statement she makes in writing or speaking at other times (remember, she is not perfect and neither are we), however, this specific series, has true Christianity presented so clearly that we are sharing these links.) This is a series that is highly recommended for long-time Christians too; Joy has watched it while not being able to attend church. The videos are simply excellent for anyone, regardless of your religious or non-religious background, your culture, your stage in life, or where you are on your spiritual journey! We would entirely support what she presents here and can’t explain it any better so may we point you to…
