Current Shipping Rates (for Canada):
Downloadable Products …. FREE (of course!)
Physical Products (e.g. readers, book bundles, artwork, and other stuff)… 10% shipping will be added to your total cost of physical products and be a minimum shipping cost of $15.50 (for Ontario) or $18.50 (for the rest of Canada).
If you’ve arranged to pick up your order, shipping costs will be refunded. If the shipping charge is significantly more than actual cost of sending your parcel, we will offer you a refund for the difference.
If you have a remote shipping address (as determined by Canada Post), additional charges up to the actual shipping cost will be invoiced separately to you and need to be paid before we ship your product.
Shipping costs will be automatically calculated for online orders in Canada. Online orders for physical products can only be shipped within Canada and the USA.
International Orders: Our e-books are available worldwide because nothing is shipped. International customers are welcome to order physical products from us too but they will need to contact us directly regarding the items they are interested in along with their address. Nothing is shipped until full payment is received by us. Any shipping charges outside of Canada will reflect actual shipping costs.
“Clearance or Short-Term-In-Stock” Items: These are products (“odds and ends”) which cannot be ordered online but may be advertised on our website. They would need to be ordered directly (e.g. by e-mail or phone) and there are no returns on these items. Actual shipping costs will apply to ship these items. We prefer Canada Post for our deliveries. The invoice must be paid before we ship the items.
Shipping Time: After completing an order, almost all customers receive their parcels between 1 to 6 weeks.
Taxes: Taxes are automatically added to online orders and reflect the rates in your province/territory.
Out of Stock Items: If you see that an item is “out of stock”, you can try ordering it if you want it since we usually can order it in fairly quickly if a supplier hasn’t discontinued it. It will be noted as a backorder but we would still expect you to be able to receive it within the 6 week time frame. Since our business is home-based, we don’t keep a lot of stock on hand but we do have great business experience with our suppliers.
New Items: Uploading new ebooks to our website is an ongoing process. We work on it when we have the time to do so. Please bookmark our website and check it from time to time (especially in the first half of 2019). We no longer have a newsletter to notify people who are waiting for a particular title to be published.
Payment can be made through Paypal or by e-transfer. If you want to order by directly contacting us (e.g. snail mail, phone, e-mail), you can use e-transfer, cheque, or money order. (Cash is fine in-person but please don’t send it in the mail.) FULL PAYMENT must be paid BEFORE we ship your order. All prices are listed in Canadian currency.
Returns: Please read our Terms and Conditions page for details. We currently accept pre-authorized returns on most resaleable physical products. E-books are not refundable. Please note that each “bundle” is considered as 1 item sold so if you would like a refund for a bundle, then all of the titles in that bundle need to be returned to us since we don’t offer partial refunds.
About Pinning our Images to Social Media: Almost all of our images should be pinnable. If you are experiencing difficulty getting the real full-colour image showing up on your screen, try switching to Google Chrome (for Internet Explorer) or Firefox.
“Bundles”: We are now offering bundles for those of you who would like this kind of guidance for choosing literature that supplements/introduces/reinforces specific subjects or reading skills. Please remember that our curriculum does NOT need these titles of literature to complete the lessons – they are only related and recommended books that supplement the lesson material very well. Our PSLC curriculum is “literature-independent”. Titles in each bundle WILL change occasionally. We will do our best to notify any major changes on the bundle listings. We have tried to find less common titles (e.g. including some “out of print” titles) for these bundles since you can easily find the common ones elsewhere if you want to include them. These bundles should make teacher’s prep even more easy and flexible for you!!!
Printable Books (pdf e-book format): This is BRAND NEW for us – to offer downloadable e-books that are printable on a home printer!!! (If you can’t or desire not to print it at home, you can send or take the file into some shops to have them print it for you.) Most of our PSLC-published curriculum titles are now offered in this manner. We have some paper versions left yet too. (Books published by other publishers will not be in these formats.) E-book curriculum is the direction we are planning to go with our titles, rather than continuing to print them for you. Our e-books are often in black ink with very minimal colour ink which means it is more economical for you (and healthier for the amount of ink off-gasing in your air) compared to some other kinds of e-book collection offered by competitors. Also, some of our e-books can be reused (-that means you’d print the main pages once) within your own family. (All of our e-books come with an end-user license agreement (click here for details) which means you cannot resell an ebook or give it away or share it with other teachers/parents in any format.) The e-books all use 8 1/2 x 11″ paper unless otherwise mentioned in the description. We hope you will enjoy this new convenience with our PSLC products! ♥
Pricing Our Downloadable Products: Our curriculum is very different than typical downloads. The pages are individually designed with careful thought and creativity rather than being chugged out as an automatic or extremely repetitive slew of busywork worksheets which just change a few words, numbers, or graphics here and there. Prices do not only reflect the number of pages you are purchasing. Prices reflect more so the amount of time and effort taken to create a work so that it is highly effective for teaching. (If something is cheaper in our ebooks, there is likely more repetition or fewer pages thus taking less time in making that collection of pages.) Also, unlike some printable curriculum that uses tons of paper and colour ink (very costly in the long run), careful thought has been put into a customer not having to print more than what is necessary so that it’s more reasonable for the amount of paper and ink. If something can be reused within the family, it is. (But I also try not to compromise on a good font size and graphics. Students should learn with at least some visuals, in my opinion!) Most or all pages in any of our PSLC-published resources use black ink and are not full-colour. Overall, we try to be very affordable for an excellent quality of education for your children and ours. ♥
Ordering Directly (not online):
If you live in our local community or are simply not comfortable with ordering online and want to purchase things the “old-fashioned way” we are very willing to help you! ♥ E-mailing us is the easiest for us to reply back to you with an invoice and confirmation of items in stock but you can also try phoning (leave a message with your phone number and province/time zone for us to return your call) or even snail mailing us. Please keep in mind that our business is home-based so we are not as available to provide immediate customer service compared to larger companies with receptionists. We homeschool a wide range of ages, bake bread, dig in a garden, chase goats, play the piano, etc.. You might have to wait a few days for a reply from us. Thanks for understanding!
