This post is a compilation of ideas and links for teaching about Christmas for multi-ages.
For the ideas on these lists below, sometimes I’ve not added a link but instead have given you what is needed to find more information about it in a keyword search online. (And for some ideas, I have provided a link for you.)

- Sometimes we look at encyclopedias (e.g. C for “Christmas”) and storybooks with the name of the carol as the title.

Teaching About Christmas – The Real Christmas Story (of Jesus)
In our part of the world, it gets dark earlier in the day around the Christmas season, sometimes is too stormy to play outdoors, and we might need the kitchen table to work on instead of them using it. Children might like to have a story to listen to or watch, especially those who have ‘sugarplums dancin’ in their heads’. This can be a good time to share a few audios and/or videos with them.
- The 12 Voices of Christmas (short audio monologues of story characters in the Christmas story)
- Zechariah’s Benedictus Song (Glorious Films video clip)
- Bethlehem: Beyond the Christmas Story (a Day of Discovery short documentary); Where Else Would a Lamb Be Born? is a nice song to go along with this too.
Downloadable colouring pages and Christmas carols visualized: Bible Visuals International
Bruce Kuhn – The Gospel of Luke (We saw a similar presentation by him “live” when we were university students; it is memorized Scripture acted out in a monologue.)

Sometimes parents look for a list of good things for kids to watch or listen to during the holiday season which either reflects the real story of Christ’s coming or are simple heart-warming stories which are wintery/Christmasy without being soaked in magic, wrongful passions, greed, etc..
